Homemade hibiscus jam

Hibiscus flowers are suitable for numerous culinary preparations, because no one can resist their fruity and tangy taste ! Today, we are sharing with you a jam recipe made with the red flowers, but know that you can also prepare it with the white ones ! Without further ado, here's what you'll need: 



  • 1 saucepan
  • 1 blender
  • 1 wooden spatula or 1 whisk
  • Sterilized jam jars


  • Rinse the hibiscus flowers in cold water
  • Repeat two more times
  • Put the flowers and the water in the pot
  • Boil the mixture for 10 min
  • Let it cool(to not to burn yourself)
  • Pass the mixture into the blender until you get the consistency you like for jams
  • Transfer the paste obtained to the pan
  • Add the sugar and lemon juice
  • Cook the mixture on medium heat for 20 minutes, stirring continuously
  • Poor the mixture into the jars
  • Let it cool to room temperature
  • Refrigerate the jars
  • Wait 24 hours before eating(it will take a couple a hours to get the right texture)
